Here is what has happened in our life one month ago today...
June 26, 2009
Around 9am I started having contractions and told Carl that he should probably shower because we were going to need to go to the hospital sometime soon. We left at noon when my contractions were 5 minutes apart. There was a delay in getting my blood work which meant a delay in getting my epidural. When it finally kicked in it only worked on my right side...but Ezra was ready to come and there was no stopping him...so they broke my water at 4:10pm and he was delivered at 4:26pm.
We were immediately in love with our new bundle of joy.
As a neat bonus, one of the residents that Carl went to medical school delivered Ezra, and she was great.
Here are a couple more of our favorite pictures.
My Dad came up to see my mom and Ellie that evening (the 26th) and made a brief stop at the hospital before heading home to run in the Cheetah Chase at the Zoo the next morning.
On another cool note. June 26 is Carl's parent's anniversary and my cousin's anniversary.
His big sister (who was home with Grandma when he was born) came to visit on Saturday. She was just delighted to see him. She even colored a picture for her Daddy to bring up to the hospital for his room.
We came home on the 28th and Carl's parents arrived that evening. We were all set for 2 weeks packed full of fun!
