If You're Happy And You Know It...

Take 1...

Take 2...

It's a good thing she's cute...

I took a paperclip away from Ellie yesterday. She looked at me and said "No! Bad Mama!"

It's a BOY!

The results are in and the Trott family is happy to announce that we're having a boy. After 4 months of feeling pretty miserable the sickness is gone (the tiredness is still lingering), and we're doing great. He weighs 9 oz and seems to be on track for everything. He is due June 24th. We're all really excited. Ellie enjoys saying "brother" and "baby" and we hope that excitement hangs around when he is here to stay. We don't have a name picked out yet. We thought we had decided but more ideas have popped in our heads...we have 5 more months :o) We'll keep you all posted with more information as it comes.

Here is a picture from my ultrasound this week.

Making Time for a Smile...

Ellie was a little upset to be done brushing her teeth the other night. She didn't want to go tell her dad goodnight, read stories, and then go to bed. As soon as I sat her down off the counter she flopped herself flat onto the bathroom floor and started kicking and "crying". I walked out of the room to avoid giving her any attention during her little temper tantrum...but also to get the camera to capture such a funny site. When I returned, she looked up at me, saw I had the camera, smiled and said "CHEESE". Then proceeded with her little fit as I walked away again. Boy oh boy...it looks like we have our hands full with this one!

Super Grover

Ever since the ball popper arrived in our house Ellie has tried to launch anything that will fit out of it. Her favorite tries have been a penguin, Mickey Mouse, Minnie Mouse, Pluto and the most recent try...SUPER GROVER! She even turns it on and watches for him to blast off. When they don't fly she becomes rather upset. Now that she can talk more, she comes running to us, grabs our fingers and says "elp" (Ellie talk for help), and leads us to the ball popper. At that point we have to rescue whatever poor toy never had its chance to fly.

Mr. Potato Head

Ellie got a Mr. Potato Head for Christmas. Her Uncle Jonathan picked it out for her. We've had it set aside since then and thought we would bring it out for a special occasion. Well...while I was working this morning she found it. She was so excited and so I pulled it out and sorted all the parts and she made her first creation. I let her pick out whatever she wanted from each pile and this is what she came up with. I was quite impressed that she picked matching arms, ears and earrings all on her own. As you can tell, she was quite proud of it.

The Shack

So, have you read it yet? It's becoming a HUGE best seller...and is getting rave and not so rave reviews. About a month ago one of my dear friends at work told me about "The Shack" and said it was a must read. She ordered a bunch of copies and passed them out to all her friends and those she thought would benefit from reading it. After she handed me my copy I finally sat down over the Christmas week and read it. It was amazing. It had me laughing, crying, and really thinking. I have passed my copy on to my parents who are now both enjoying it as well. If you have read it I would love to hear your thoughts on it. If you haven't read it I think you should.
